Dear Friends and Partners, As we move into fall, I want to share a few updates on what the Superior Health Foundation team has been working on this quarter, and what's ahead. This fall, we will be bringing grantees together in three Upper Peninsula (U.P.) communities: Sault Ste. Marie, Manistique, and Houghton. These convenings are an opportunity for us to connect with the organizations doing the work on the ground, hear directly about what's going well and what's challenging, and strengthen the relationships that make our grantmaking effective. We're looking forward to spending time in each of these communities and learning alongside our partners. I'll also be presenting at the 2026 Council of Michigan Foundations Annual Conference on our evolving approach to nonprofit capacity building, alongside colleagues from the Erb Family Foundation, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, and Provident Health Foundation. These conversations give us a chance to compare notes with peer funders on how we support the organizations we fund, and to bring back ideas that could strengthen our own practice here at SHF. We are in the process of wrapping up our final grant cycle of the year. Announcements on those awards will go out in November, and we're grateful to every organization that applied and shared their work with us. Behind the scenes, work continues on our grantmaking and evaluation strategy. This is a significant undertaking for our team, and we're taking the time to get it right. We expect to roll out the new strategy in early 2027, and we'll share more details as that work progresses.
