Paint the Peninsula Pink and support UP breast cancer patients with Superior Health Foundation

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) — As we approach October, also known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Superior Health Foundation (SHF) asks that you help them "Paint the Peninsula Pink."

Individuals or businesses can sponsor a day or more on their pink calendar with the donated money going to SHF's Breast Health Fund, which helps breast cancer patients across the entire Upper Peninsula.

"If you are going through breast cancer, if you're going through diagnosis, through treatment, through post treatment, and have expenses that your insurance isn't covering — copays, deductibles, or if you've got excessive travel costs because you have to go out of the area to get treatment and even some, ancillary services that you might need related to your cancer journey," said SHF CEO Megan Murphy. "This fund can help cover that."

In the last 12 months, SHF says the Breast Health Fund donated over $40,000 to support 17 people in seven U.P. counties.

You can sponsor a single day for $150, or two days for $250. To learn more, click here
