Purpose

The intent of the Spring and Fall Proactive Grants Program is to provide funding for health-centered projects across the Upper Peninsula. Proposals addressing the following focus areas are of particular interest to the Foundation:

  • Accessibility-related initiatives

  • Behavioral health programs and expansion, including SUD-related services

  • Chronic disease prevention and interventions

  • Healthy food access and wellness programs

  • Maternal-infant health programs

  • Older adult and caregiver support programs

  • Oral health access and education

  • Workforce development and training

While this list represents SHF’s primary focus areas, other types of projects will also be considered.

The average award amount will be between $5,000 and $75,000, with up to $750,000 to be granted in 2025. An organization may apply for one or two years of funding.
