Advancing U.P. Health
Purpose
The intent of the Spring and Fall Proactive Grants Program is to provide funding for health-centered projects across the Upper Peninsula. Proposals addressing the following focus areas are of particular interest to the Foundation:
Accessibility-related initiatives
Behavioral health programs and expansion, including SUD-related services
Chronic disease prevention and interventions
Healthy food access and wellness programs
Maternal-infant health programs
Older adult and caregiver support programs
Oral health access and education
Workforce development and training
While this list represents SHF’s primary focus areas, other types of projects will also be considered.
The average award amount will be between $5,000 and $75,000, with up to $750,000 to be granted in 2025. An organization may apply for one or two years of funding.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Any tax-exempt organization based in or working in the Upper Peninsula to improve health outcomes in the region, with preference given to grassroots organizations, neighborhood groups, tribal communities, and small and medium-sized nonprofits.
